I know I’m late, but I’m here aren’t I.

What can I even say about this album, its just fabulous. Lets just say it most definitely will give you “Those” feels. I wonder if we all feel these feels, there’s just absolutely no way you can’t. If you’re reading this and haven’t given this album a listen, stop here please and go give it a listen from start to finish. You are truly in for a roller coaster ride of feelings.

My first interaction with Snoh Aalegra was with her billboard breaking song “I Want You Around” and what can I say I was hooked immediately after, I’m assuming just like everyone else to come across her. “I Want You Around” makes me think of that crush you had in grade school that you didn’t know you had until you look back and think of how you couldn’t wait to see them that next day at school. The sounds make it feel as if you’re being grabbed by a force, transcending through a warm colored tube through space. At this point I may have lost you, but listening to “I Want You Around” will certainly give you a high you cannot get enough of. Heck even the video brings you that high. Its as if I am seeing memories of my own just unfold through the video. My question to you is what do you think of when you hear this song?

Like I said earlier this album is one heck of a roller coaster ride. Now that I think about it, how the heck can one person describe all this about love. Don’t take that as complaining because that’s the last thing I can do about this album. From the start of the album we are introduced to all the amazing feelings that are associated with love showing how it blinds us from everything else, but isn’t that the beauty about it? From “Here Now” the intro up until “Toronto” we are taken down the road of our hearts during the stage of just pure immense love. Loving someone else is such an intense feeling that there’s nothing else you’d rather look or speak about but your love. “Find Someone Like You” cant do a better job at describing the first half of the album. The lyrics in “Find Someone Like You” really bring out that whole euphoric feeling in this album, a feeling Snoh once talked about in an interview with Metro. Trust me when I say this song will make you think about all the moments you have yet to have your special person. Trust me, my wife will be held very tight on the dance floor when this song comes on. Such a perfect first half of an album.

Now shall we move onto the second half? I will say that I wasn’t prepared to be hit with all the emotions that arose from listening to these next songs. If you haven’t yet listened to the second half, I will say you are in for that roller coaster DROP right about now. The half opens up with “Love Like That”, which if you’ve ever seen or been in a relationship its that stage when a couple is holding on their love even through all the pain that it may be causing them. Some may say toxic, some may say a bump in the road, but surly “Love Like That” shows how any bad no matter how bad can easily be outweighed by a simple good moment. Snoh then takes us into another universe with the song “Be Careful”, a universe of bad love. A universe where love is a “land full of mines” as she says. Take one wrong step and everything will implode, that is exactly how the song feels. The second half of this album really makes you question love and if you are capable of holding on. Is loving worth all the pain?

Now that we’ve got this far, I think y’all are ready for my favorites.

My Top 3 Songs

  1. Charleville 9200, Pt.II
  2. Whoa
  3. I Didn’t Mean to Fall in Love

Overall this album was spot on and undeniably one of my favorite R&B albums to date. Now one thing I can’t do is leave this post without talking about the production on this album. After listening to “Charleville 9200, Pt II” about a million times, I say that it misses absolutely nothing. From the sounds to the lyrics, each step in production was glorified, as shown throughout the whole album. The work put into creating this album 100% came to the light. I thank Snoh Aalegra and everyone whole played a role in bringing us an album for the ages.

WHAT AN ALBUM.
